The top priority of the Foundation Fiesta Clásica is to help restoring confidence and hope and promote social inclusión of the most vulnerable children of the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo, using collective music teaching. In concrete terms, that means that every day we welcome in our center children from the age of 5 to 17 years and we teach them choral singing and instrumental practice. Pedagogy and repertoire come directly from El Sistema founded more than 40 years ago by Maestro José Antonio Abreu.
All classes give us the oportunity to pass social values such as the necessity of group work, solidarity, punctuality, mutual respect. Furthermore, the organization of public concerts and showcases represents an excellent oportunity to surpass themselves.
Every member of the Juvenil Symphonic Orchestra recieved his own instrument and may brin git back home. Doing sot hey can continue practicing. This means also that we trust them : it’s a very good cause for satisfaction for them and their families.
